Warum fange ich aktuell bei jeder scheiß Kleinigkeit an zu heulen? Das ist echt anstrengend.

Seit ner Zeit interpretiere ich "Vielleicht" einfach als "Nein". Meistens ist nein gemeint aber aus Höflichkeit wird vielleicht gesagt was aber jedes Mal zu großer Enttäuschung bei mir führt. Wenn dann aus dem Vielleicht doch mal ein Ja wird ist es eine positive Überraschung.

As a GP in Germany, I struggle with the claim that “people don’t want to work.” In daily practice, I see the opposite: many patients push themselves to keep working, even when they should rest. They worry about burdening colleagues, unfinished tasks, or upcoming deadlines.

If we want to understand rising sick leave, we need to look at real factors: increasing workload, constant pressure, lack of recovery time, social isolation, and overall exhaustion. Reducing this to a question of “motivation” ignores both evidence and lived experience.

In my experience, people who genuinely try to avoid work are a tiny minority. Framing the issue this way feels similar to old narratives about unemployment—oversimplified, misleading, and disconnected from reality.

@catraxx Happens. Was not the first one this year but the one most obvious to be a meltdown.

I guess this was a meltdown. Happy that I was able to contain it until I got home. But today was just too much and the train ride back home was just hell for the major part of it.

Was ist UPS eigentlich für ein verdammter Saftladen? Lieferung an eine myflexbox. Man braucht dafür einen Abholcode. UPS ist zu blöd mir diesen zuzusenden.

@proedie I just don't think that the selected languages are a good choice for students to understand the fundamentals. And if you want to understand modern concepts, you should maybe also look at at least one language that supports these modern concepts. Overwhelming students with both C and Haskell in the first semester doesn't sound like a suitable approach to me.

The longer I am at universities in Germany, the more I believe that you shouldn't study there if you want a good education. At universities of applied sciences, the professors are massively overworked with a way-too-high teaching load to offer qualitative education. And at regular universities, teaching is usually just an afterthought. It's something you have to do, but no one will employ you because you are a good teacher. If you're mediocre, it's more than enough.

And if you are someone who is passionate about teaching but not at least twice as passionate about research, better find a job outside of academia. And give up both teaching and research.
